Nick Byard is a civil servant who had an early mid-life crisis, decided to take up comedy and now describes himself as one of Reading's prominent citizens. Akshay Morye is an Oxford-based comic with an Indian passport. A comedian of unpronounceable proportions, Akshay is often described as cocksure and uncaring by his peers, and unfunny by those who know him better. He is actually better at writing AI than comedy. This is fortunate as AI is how he earns his bread, while his comedy prepares the world for certain apocalypse. _______
Kitty Speed’s warmhearted comedy is full of joyful tales and earnest observations, all delivered in a relaxed anecdotal style. Wacky, loud and slightly surreal, Dan blends a mix of tightly written jokes, intellectual and well thought out ideas, and the slightly psychotic rhetoric of a madman. Dan seems to have the unlimited supply of energy needed to match the relentless stream of nonsense which occupies the vast majority of his cerebellum. ... Dan also has mixed feelings about referring to himself in the 3rd person. **WARNING**Some material may not be suitable for those of a responsible disposition. "A Joke-smith of some merit" ****-Mumblecomedy.co.uk "A Great act" -Mates Rates Comedy _______
Sam Lake is a stand-up comedian, writer and presenter. Sam openly shares stories and details from his life as a semi-camp gay man, moving from a small mining village to a big city and gearing up to becoming a happily married man.
Sam has been performing comedy for 4 years, and has racked up a number of achievements, including winning Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year 2018 and Hastings Fringe Newcomer of the Year 2018. He’s had multiple sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, including his most recent offering, “Household Essentials”, a stand-up double-header with fellow comic Chloe Petts. He’s currently working on his debut hour for 2020, titled “Cake”.
And your host for the evening….
As you may know, he appeared on Take Me Out and still sponges off the story to this day. Since his time away from Brookes he has an “adult job” now but also dips into any hosting or TV opportunities that come his way. He’d also like to add he’s finally had a haircut and can still offer half-decent hosting skills, with the worst one liners you will hear all night. But one thing he’s sure to bring us some energy to the stage.
Prizes up for grabs! There will be a raffle with some fantastic prizes!
Raffle tickets are £5 per strip of £10 for 3 strips.
All funds raised go towards supporting people with brain injury.
